Interesting start to the day. So I was under the assumption that I would not be at PAX on Friday due to work, and I also did not have time to plan anything. What can you do with no planning and showing up late to an event? Well this is the story of my first part of the first day at PAX East.
I'll be honest: when I first saw the trailer for Sega's Hell Yeah! I did not know what to think. Its cartoon style looked unique, but its overall presentation didn't look so great. After playing it at PAX East, though, I might have just bore witness to a taste of the best downloadable title of 2012.
This movie-based game won't be your fish 'n chips Colonial Marines; this is the Marines in space. I wasn't expecting anything great going into seeing Aliens: Colonial Marines, but I got slapped in the face with awesomeness. Right off the bat I say thank you, Sega!
For the press hour we were able to book it right over to the awesomeness of Rockstar Studios, where we were able to get a chance to actually play Max Payne 3. Quite simply I am impressed with what I was able to witness.
I was surprised to see the return of an old title I used to play back in college. The Tribes franchise has always brought some of the most fast-paced multiplayer battles seen online. Today I have seen what happens when this beloved franchise ups the ante in combat mode: the free-to-play Tribes: Ascend.
Whenever you have Suda51 involved in any game, pure unadulterated insanity is what is to be expected. Here at PAX East that's exactly what I witnessed when I went hands-on with his latest gem: Lollipop Chainsaw.
In just one day, the geek culture will be invading our home turf. Droves of gamers, developers, and performers will be scattered throughout the Hub for PAX East 2012. What are some of the things we'll be looking forward to the most? Come with me now on a journey through my gaming-loving mind, and see what players should be keeping an eye on.
With PAX East and Anime Boston a couple days away the Bastards get their final gear together before embarking on their amazing journeys.
Before their upcoming gig at PAX East King Baby Duck and ESH's Pandalicious had a chance to sit down with local Square-Enix cover band The World Is Square.
