April 2012

The Bastards take you onto the floor at PAX East with some of the biggest and newest stars of the gaming development world!

How can one not fall in love with a game with a title like Drunken Robot Pornography? The folks at Dejobaan Games (who are behind the brilliant AaAaAA!!! series) brought its unique first-person shooter to PAX East, and while it was still in testing mode what we were able to play was pretty impressive.

Klei Entertainment, the folks that brought us the Shank series, brought its latest bloody baby to PAX East this weekend: Mark of the Ninja.

I get home on day one of PAX East knowing that it will not be easy to get up and do the walk around never sit down thing again today. Well the morning came and I had to roll off the side of the bed and try to stop myself from hitting the floor. I guess that was enough to start out on day two of the convention.

Fans of Portal may rejoice, as lead designer Kim Swift may just be topping herself with the latest puzzle title Quantum Conundrum, developed by Airtight Games and published by Square Enix.

Have you ever wanted to be the next Peter Venkman? XMG is promising such a dream to come true in the upcoming tablet/smartphone game Ghostbusters: Paranormal Blast.

At the very first PAX East in 2010 Hello Games was showing off its then-PSN exclusive Joe Danger, starring a down-on-his luck stuntman looking for another chance at the limelight. Two years ago his time has finally come, in the form of Joe Danger: The Movie.

Sega is listening to you Sonic fans. They heard your minor complaints about the first part of Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode I, with its strange fluidity and overall look. That's why they started from scratch with Episode II, and so far it looks like we're in for a nostalgic treat.

At the Sega booth at PAX East I was able to go up with a classic title from Dreamcast of old: Jet Set Radio!

Interesting start to the day. So I was under the assumption that I would not be at PAX on Friday due to work, and I also did not have time to plan anything. What can you do with no planning and showing up late to an event? Well this is the story of my first part of the first day at PAX East.
