The days of hardcore side-scrolling mass anarchy shooters appears to be upon us once again, as Boston's own Demiurge Studios has unleashed Shoot Many Robots, a game that is as insane as it will drive you to become. It's been well over a year since I went hands-on with it at PAX East 2011, so how has it fared since then?

The very first scene I bore witness to at the PAX East demo for Spec Ops: The Line had me hurdling in a helicopter through a ruined Dubai, as opposing forces were doing everything they could to shoot us down while we were returning fire. Its fast-paced moments had me gripping my controller ever-so tightly as my copter swerved around rotting towers, while my jaw dropped slightly as I lit up enemy copters and tore down crumbling buildings. Then came the kicker: the helicopters all got trapped in a sandstorm, ripping through everything until the screen turned black. I realized at that moment that Spec Ops: The Line was turning out to be a wartime game unlike anyone has ever seen.

This movie-based game won't be your fish 'n chips Colonial Marines; this is the Marines in space. I wasn't expecting anything great going into seeing Aliens: Colonial Marines, but I got slapped in the face with awesomeness. Right off the bat I say thank you, Sega!

For the press hour we were able to book it right over to the awesomeness of Rockstar Studios, where we were able to get a chance to actually play Max Payne 3. Quite simply I am impressed with what I was able to witness.

Whenever you have Suda51 involved in any game, pure unadulterated insanity is what is to be expected. Here at PAX East that's exactly what I witnessed when I went hands-on with his latest gem: Lollipop Chainsaw.

I am loving SSX, plain and simple. They upped the awesomeness of this game by adding more characters, multiple locations from all around the world, and competing in different modes such as tricking, racing and the new survival.
