Squid Girl and Gendo Ikari Invade Anime Boston 2023
If you "ink" you're getting in the robot, then you're solely mistaken. What isn't a mistake is Anime Boston 2023's next US guests announcement: voice actors Christine Cabanos and John Swasey!
Christine Cabanos is a Los Angelesābased voice actor, most well known for her roles in anime and video games. In the realm of animation, she can be heard as many beloved characters, such as Madoka Kaname from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Azusa Nakano from K-On!, Mako Mankanshoku from Kill la Kill, Squid Girl from Squid Girl, Amalia in Wakfu, and more. In the video game world, Christine has voiced notable roles, such as Filia from Skullgirls, Chiaki Nanami from Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, Nepgear from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, and many others.
John Swasey is an extremely well-accomplished voice actor and director with a love for working in the anime industry. In 1997, John landed his first role in Golden Boy, and since then, John has gone on to voice numerous characters from anime, video games, and more, such as Gendo in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kogoro in Sgt. Frog, and the Captain in Halo Legends. To add, he has gone on to direct various popular anime series, such as Welcome to the N-H-KĀ and Air Gear. John also voiced General Disdain in the animated feature Last Flight of the Champion.
Cabanos and Swasey join the previously-announced guests Paranom & Aztech from Hybrid Thoughts, Shiu Yoshijima, Dante Basco, Erika Harlacher, and Jason Liebrecht, Brandon McInnis, Emi Lo, Sarah Natochenny, and J.
