Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 55 | Beauty in Chaos

Beauty in Chaos is what we would call a monstrous collective. Curated by guitarist Michael Ciravolo, the concoctions the band conjure up can vary in many ways. A song with Ashton Nyte delivers a gothic post-punk fantasy dreamscape; a melody fronted by the legendary Ice-T is loud rage captured in a calm tone; and a track with Evi Vine is a haunting love ballad trapped within a Renaissance-like era. This Halloween, Beauty in Chaos returns with a new remix album entitled Out of Chaos Comes..., an offshoot of this past summer's The Storm Before The Calm. A preview of what's to come arrived a few days back, in the form of the Sinistrality Mix of "A Kind Cruelty," featuring vocals by Curse Mackey and the remix skills of U2 & Ozzy Osbourne producer Tim Palmer! But before the full set arrives, Beauty in Chaos is taking to the Shameless Tuesdays playlist to put its own spell on it!

Here's what Michael has to say about this week's playlist:

It was a pleasure to compile this playlist … as I took a look back at some of the songs that inspired me in my early teens … T. Rex, Bowie, NY Dolls and Alice Cooper all showed me the way at my crossroad of either football or being in a band! Creating this, I was realized that the diversity in my tastes – glam, punk, industrial, shoegaze and goth lead to what BEAUTY IN CHAOS is. Combining lots of ‘flavors’ … sort of a musical Jambalaya (showing my New Orleans upbringings!) into a remarkably cohesive sound.

One of my joys of BIC is introducing artists to our BIC Family that they might not have heard of prior. I always urge our listeners to take a deep-dive into these artists’ catalogs; so it was great to be able to add some of their songs to my selections.

I hope you enjoy this sonic journey … which I think is best played LOUD with a glass or two of a nice red wine!
