Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 108 | Gramercy Arms
You'd be forgiven if you heard Gramercy Arms's "Yesterday's Girl", and think that you've stumbled upon a lost Tom Petty track. With Dave Derby and Renée Lo Bue's dual vocals, the love song could've easily fit on 1989's Full Moon Fever. In actuality, it's a sneak peek of what's to come from Gramercy Arms's third album Deleted Scene, which boasts collaborations from members of Guided By Voices, Nada Surf, Bright Eyes, and many more. Before the album's featured presentation, Gramercy Arms looks towards today's Shameless Tuesdays playlist!
Here's what Gramercy Arms has to say about this week's playlist:
This is a playlist of songs by our favorite artists with a wintry/December-ish feel. All of these songs have inspired, and continue to inspire us in different ways. Some of them are songs that we've covered ("It's You," "Wichita Lineman," "Jet," and "Nature's Way" to name a few) Almost all of them are songs that we wish we wrote. A lot of them are connected to times and places. Many connect me to my days living in Boston, Hawaii, New York City, and Berlin. Some are known songs by artists and others are deeper album cuts from LPs, cassette tapes, and CD's I've carried around with me from place to place.
