Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 07 | Linda Em
Ever hear a voice that just stops your heart cold before it warms it back up? That's the best way I can describe the raw and beautiful talent of London-based singer Linda Em, whose upcoming EP London Irish (in stores September 21) will no doubt swoon you just as soon as it stabs you right in the back. Her alt-country sounds will ring familiar to those who have been smitten by the likes of Neko Case and the Isobel Campbell/Mark Lanegan collaborations, with melodies that will raise your spirits just high enough to the heavens before it drags it down towards a fiery afterlife! Today, Boston Bastard Brigade and Shameless Promotion PR are excited to have Linda Em curate this edition of Shameless Tuesdays, making its return after a brief hiatus!
Here's what Linda Em has to say about this week's contribution:
"As well as a couple of songs from my new EP 'London Irish' this playlist features some fantastic artists and songs that have had an influence on my music (Melanie, Joan Baez, Camille O’Sullivan) as well as songs by people I have worked and collaborated with whose work deserves a wider audience. These include the brilliant Gavin Glass who produced ‘London Irish’, Sil Fiore (performing here as Sibilla) who does some great vocal arrangements for me, Crayon Angels who feature Ian Montague who is co-writer of my song ‘Two Hands’, and the folk legend Julie Felix who is doing me the honour of playing a guest spot at my upcoming EP launch at the Water Rats on September 26. Hope you enjoy it."
