Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 149 | Rockers Galore

When Rockers Galore make an entrance, they come in roaring like mighty lions! The Philadelphia reggae rap rockers have been unleashing a plethora of singles and EPs since their 2011 debut, but the time to album is now! Their first full-length LP Vamos a la Playa arrives this September, but they've got a killer summer anthem they just need to unleash now before it gets too cold for the beach! Leadoff single "Blood in the Sound" transforms the Taino Rebellion from the 16th century into a party, with hopes that the only salty water to hit the beach is the ocean, not tears. With a trio of musical genre revolutions leading the charge, Rockers Galore act like a "Sweet Sensei" as they school us about this week's Shameless Tuesdays!

Here's what Rockers Galore have to say about this week's playlist:

We've handpicked these artists because of their profound influence on our creative process and how they have shaped our unique musical style. Our name is inspired by a song from The Clash, one of our favorite bands. The playlist includes The Specials, Rancid, and Sublime, who blend punk rock and roots music. We also included 70's rock bands such as The Who, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, and Funkadelic. Additionally, we added Bob Marley and newer reggae artists like Iya Terra, Tribal Seeds, and Kabaka Pyramid. Given our members' Latin roots, we also love artists such as Peso Pluma, Bad Bunny, and Manu Chao. We hope you enjoy this mix on your way to the beach or when meeting up with friends.
