I’ve always had conflicted views about songs dealing with sports, specifically songs cheering on certain teams. They can really go south if you’re not careful and come off as pandering or inauthentic in any number of ways. But I love sports and I love rock n’ roll and so I’m always looking for that perfect marriage. And I don’t necessarily mean songs only about sports, but songs that deal with them in some way no matter how peripheral. Some of these are obvious classics and some of these are a little more under the radar. All are about sports. Play ball.
