Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 117 | Nevaris
If there's one thing Nevaris is good at, it's getting a feel-good vibe going. And considering that rock legend Carlos Santana proclaimed them as "a work of supreme creativity", you can bet that the sounds he creates will make your mind and body feel euphoric! His upcoming album Reverberations hits stores on May 25th, and the lead-in singles "Dub Sol" and "Interference" are perfect for slow dance jams or when you have, well, the good stuff in reach. But until the full Reverberations experience arrives to tantalizes your brainwaves, Nevaris is here to send you off on a smooth pre-party Shameless Tuesdays jam!

I enjoyed creating this playlist related to our "Reverberations" album. At least half of it is family. That means artists I have worked with closely in the past including the lineup from Reverberations, and others I am connected to through Loud Apartment, Uncomun, and otherwise. It was a great experience combing through the catalogs of the musicians from this community, and really realizing how great so much of it is.
The second part of the list is just icons of music, massive names that have influenced me. This includes Bob Marley, Miles Davis, Santana, Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, Mongo Santamaria, Lee Perry and others. It's a pretty sacred list.
Then there's a cross section, artists that are both icons and also connected to this project somehow. This includes Bill Laswell, Bernie Worrell and Santana who endorsed the project. I've also had the honor of being connected with Michael Shrieves a little bit this year and the songs from Caravanserai pay respect to both Carlos Santana and Michael Shrieves as a really incredible work.
In general I hope people enjoy this collection of music and the work of so many amazing musical minds. Respect.
