Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 77 | The Mystery Plan

The Mystery Plan can sometimes be a tough band to categorize. Sometimes they like to keep things jazzy, and in other occasions they can get as weird as The Flaming Lips. On their sixth album You Also Have Eyes, even the strange finds a way to keep it cool. From the sauntering opening track "Electric Love" and the campfire-roaring "Midnight Trail Ride" to the Throwing Muses-like "Always" and the beautiful instrumental closer "Weird Things People Do", the new record has a plethora of eclectic styles that'll impress your ears and satisfy your mind. To mark the new album's release, The Mystery Plan have once again returned to Shameless Tuesdays!

Here's what The Mystery Plan's Jason Herring has to say about this week's playlist:

The music on this playlist not only consists of some of my favorite songs by my favorite artists, but it also represents some of the amazing talent on 10mm Omega Recordings, and from the Carolinas. A lot of what is popular, and gets played on the radio, in the south is not what we are about. We are about the experimental, the emotional, and deeper side of Indie, Dream Pop, Country, Electronic, Trip-Hop, and a little dub reggae. The sound is eclectic, and it's also familiar...somehow. Sit back, with a cocktail...or three, and enjoy this set of amazing songs.

Thank you.
