Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 65 | Arsenic Tea Party
Their latest EP may be titled The Really Not Good Times, but it's impossible not to feel joyful when listening to Arsenic Tea Party. Taking cues from the likes of The World/Inferno Friendship Society, Mr. Bungle, and Tub Ring, the Michigan-based punk duo is a carnival of sounds and playful lyrics. From the swinging "Milk of Tragedy" to the dirty funk metal of "Daddy Delicious's Kum Klub", Arsenic Tea Party throws melodic shindigs for the finest degenerates and most aristocratic freaks of nature. And today, we're super excited to have them rounding up this week's Shameless Tuesdays playlist!
Here's what Arsenic Tea Party have to say about this week's playlist:
Hello, we’re Arsenic Tea Party, and we’d like to provide you with a playlist that’ll make you even sadder. For absolutely no reason, other than we can. This playlist features a lot of our friends, as well as a few established acts. Some emerging; others have a little more notoriety, but nonetheless underrated, and underplayed in our humble opinion. 23 songs long. I like that number. It’s a playlist for people who are masochistic, depressed drunks.
The bands herein are somewhat similar to us in nature and sound, so if you like us, you’ll probably like them – in fact, some of them are big influences on our own music. They feature a wide range of dynamic instruments, and sultry sounds. So, take you a draught, and don’t forget your woes. Hopefully you’ll make it to the end of this dreary playlist without mishap!
