Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 44 | Short-Haired Domestic
A good beat gets not just your body moving, but also the ground under your feet. The avant-garde duo of Short-Haired Domestic, made up of producer Tim Friese-Greene and his partner (and former Sidi Bou Said member) Lee Friese-Greene, like to keep things weird and groovy, like a classic Robert Crumb comic transformed into sound. Their debut single "A song in Latin... A song in Hindi", arriving on June 5th, is a hypnotic mixture of Björk and Throwing Muses, with its beautiful vocals and bass-heavy melodies. To bring more grooves and tunes to listeners' eardrums, Short-Haired Domestic have unleashed a killer song selection for this week's Shameless Tuesdays!
Here are what Lee & Tim have to say about this week's playlist:
No doubt we are not the only people who are mourning all of the live music we wont get to see this year because of lockdown. Lee loves going to festivals, and Tim gets dragged along and then admits to having a good time (apart from the tents and the rain and the portaloos). This playlist mostly features bands and artists whose sets we enjoyed at UK music festivals during the past year. As punters, festivals are amazing for discovering new music - there’s something special about wandering between stages and stumbling across something that sounds weird, interesting, or just perfect for lying in a field with a pint of cider. For emerging artists, festivals are a fundamental for reaching a wider audience in the flesh. Hopefully there will be some new things here for you too. Until we can all stand together again in a field in Dorset, love from Short-Haired Domestic.
