Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 24 | Kim Thompsett
Have you ever listened to an album and felt like you had been transported to Narnia or Middle Earth? You're not alone if you've ever heard the works of Kim Thompsett! Her (very) old-school folk sound brings forth Renaissance-styled limericks and melodies, with a pinch of jazz flute to add a sultry coolness to her songs. Thompsett's latest album The Hollows (available on May 31st) delivers a vibe that flows like a gentle breeze through a dark & mysterious forest, where the most mystique and curious of creatures cavort with carefree smiles. To revel upon its upcoming release, Thompson has been granted access to this week's edition of Shameless Tuesdays!
Here's what Kim Thompsett has to say about her playlist, which she has dubbed "An Exploration of the Broader Branches of the Folky Oak":
It was with quite a sense of relish that I received a request to put together a playlist of some of my favourite tracks with the chance to include some rather rare and little heard-of nuggets that can be unearthed when looking under the broader umbrella of folk. Having always been around the fringes of this myself and inhabiting more of the nooks and crannies, it was a great opportunity to polish up some of these gems and let them see the light of day.
