Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 166 | Celeste Corsano

It's important to have a yin-yang balance, even when it comes to creating music. Celeste Corsano knows this well, as her two recent songs offer that perfect symmetry between light and dark. "Sunlight Gazing" has that walk-in-the-park vibe that brings to mind swing sets, slides, and the occasional cigarette smoke from the teens loitering in the back. Meanwhile, "Nightbird" may seem like a melancholy melody, but its loud chorus delivers haunting chills that'll dance on your backbone. These are only two songs Celeste Corsano is unleashing this summer, with more to come while the temperatures run hot and the air-conditioners run cool. So until it's time for the next batch of songs, Celeste gives off a Shameless Tuesdays playlist that offers a solid balance of moods and styles.

Here's what Celeste has to say about this week's playlist:

I love Northeastern Pennsylvania, but I’m originally from New Jersey. Recently I recorded some new singles at Magic Door recording studio in Montclair, New Jersey, and have released these singles on the Magic Door record label. I’ve been writing for a number of years and prior to that was singing traditional, Celtic music, and bluegrass and performing around the tri-state area. I really enjoyed developing my sound with producer and recording engineer Ray Ketchem of Magic Door and have been getting some great reviews and airplay, thanks to the help of Shauna McLaren of Shameless Promotions. My third single will have a video accompanying it by an awesome artist and musician called Brother JT.

The songs that I selected are ones that I’ve carried with me through the years and have played over and over. There is one very new one, to me, at least that I heard on an Instagram page by Little Hag, but the rest, have been lingering around in my head for some time. I’ve been thinking a lot about the transitory nature of things, so the theme for this playlist is songs that have stuck with me and have stood the test of time. Most of the songs on this playlist have vivid memories to accompany them in my mind. For instance, I can remember riding my bike for miles listening to the Radiohead album, or driving to school listening to Devo. I’m sure all of these songs have a place in my musical influence somehow and I hope you enjoy a reunion with them if you haven’t heard them in a while or if some are new to you I hope you enjoy.
