Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 148 | J.C. Miller
J.C. Miller gets the American mentality. The country was built on the backs of the unsung hard workers that reside in it. And yet, there's no parade for them, and even the likes of "Labor Day" has become a joke of its former self. That sentiment comes across strongly in Miller's new song "Wayward Son", a tribute to those who fight tooth & nail for the small morsels America tosses it just to survive. But those aren't the only heroes of America to be found, as J.C. Miller gives many others their due in this week's Shameless Tuesdays!
Here's what J.C. Miller has to say about this week's playlist:
The artists I have chosen here for this playlist all stir my soul, that simple. For me, it’s all a search for authenticity, for truth — for storytelling, baked in southern fried roots-y funk. It’s analog — wood and metal, no tricks, just Sun Belters — delta rockin’ tunes… Wherever songwriters and guitar players meet up, that’s the jam for me — always play to the song, listen to the band, and react. Those reactions to other band members, that tuning in to one another, is the magic. I'm looking for honesty and humility, this combo is worthy and can be seen as continuing the tradition.
