Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 146 | Wild Remedy
The spirit of the olden days runs fast through the veins of Wild Remedy. The Canadian folk trio's latest EP Songs From Home has that barnyard vibe running within its five tracks. From the skipping and hopping "Home Song" and the field-working "Take the Punches" to the stargazing "Little Me", Wild Remedy unleash a record that embraces its listeners like a knitted blanket next to a roaring campfire. Needless to say, this record is perfect for those itching to take on the great outdoors with friends, family, and lovers. And coming down that well-worn road is a Shameless Tuesdays that's been crafted with care by the ladies of Wild Remedy.
Here's what Wild Remedy have to say about this week's playlist:
This playlist is a journey through our stories as Wild Remedy. Composed of artists that both inspire us as musicians and impact us as a band, we hand-picked these songs from our own personal playlists and setlists. Some are friends that have been journeying with us as a band ever since day one (JoJo Worthington, Nate Hardy), and others are artists who we can only dream of having the chance to perform with someday-- each song has a special place in our stories.
We often describe our sound as something that has been "influenced by everything from alternative pop to folk-rock, gospel to disco", and that couldn't be more evident here! Artists such as Noah Kahan, Trousdale, boygenius, and Joseph are most evidently heard in our core pop-folk sound as WIld Remedy; however, others like the Indigo Girls, Stevie Wonder, The Cranberries, and Bruce Springsteen equally have shaped our sound and creative outputs as artists. When we first started making music together, we had a communal playlist that wasn't unlike this one: an eclectic mix of genres, voices, eras, and instruments, all singing their own songs of healing, joy, peace, and love.
So we invite you to come and listen with us to some of our favourite tunes. A nice cup of tea and a walk through a green, lush forest are totally optional (but recommended!).
