Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 140 | The Palace of Tears
Within the foggy swamps of New Orleans resides The Palace of Tears. Despite the harrowing vocals from LV Darkling, tears won't be flowing from your eyes. Instead, her and her multi-instrumentalist cohort Erick r Scheid will leave you hypnotized by their latest album Veiled Screen, Woven Dream. Embrace the darkness that filled your speaker in such songs as "An Echo in Time" and the cello-led "Lair of the Undying". Whether it's for a gothic party or a mood-setter for a D&D game, The Palace of Tears will drag you into their world with sinister intent. Before we awaken from this woven dream, The Palace of Tears have an extra spell to cast via this week's Shameless Tuesdays!
Here's what The Palace of Tears has to say about this week's playlist:
The Palace of Tears guitarist Erick r Scheid has curated a Spotify playlist for Boston Bastard Brigade's Shameless Tuesdays. The intention that went into compiling the playlist was to offer a glimpse of the music being listened to and inspired for The Palace of Tears upcoming release of their sophomore album 'Veiled Screen, Woven Dream'. With the solar eclipse and the album release date coinciding a few days away it felt fitting to showcase the music that has shaped the mood and sonic depth for the past year.
The music chosen all has a central theme of the esoteric, the ritual, the connection to earth, moon, sun, ether and the unseen world. The artists all have a sense of offering mood/space and atmosphere for those reflective moments in the dark of night or twilight of the morning. Elements of genres showcased are steeped in Blackgaze, Goth Dream Pop, Pagan Ritual, Shoegaze, Ethereal Rock and Ambient.
