Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 137 | Circolo Vizioso

When Circolo Vizioso hits the speakers, the world around you turns to black & white. The duo of Tony Scafidi and Paul Geigerzaehler craft hip-shaking grooves meant for the deepest underground clubs imaginable. With their mixture of hypnotic electric guitars, demonic violins, and simple-yet-demented drum beats, Circolo Vizioso take on the world with the intention to make everyone dance their souls out! This Friday, their debut album Verrueckt arrives, stained with cigarette smoke and sealed with half a broken heart. From the Ukrainian War-inspired "Walls" to the failed romance in "Choppy," the album aims to defeat hate and wickedness with their own brand of Berlin-based seduction. To keep the spell going, Circolo Vizioso salute their friends and heroes in this week's Shameless Tuesdays playlist!

Here's what Circolo Vizioso have to say about this week's playlist:

We've wanted to go for kind of an "our heroes" playlist here, first and foremost with quite famous and very well known american and british punk bands from the 70's and the 80's that we like harking back to such as The Wire, Dead Kennedys, Ramones, The Buzzcocks and The Fall keeping the good vibes on with some good west and east german stuff from late 80's greatly featured by Trio, Fehlfarben and Abwaehrts and adding interest to the playlist including our teenage listenings that literally gobsmacked us while putting the first chords together at the age of 13 and 14 years old, like of course Fugazi, Nirvana, Butthole Surfers, Jesus Lizard, Schleim Keim, Daily Terror, Male and Hans-A-Plast.

We also wanted to include high profile figures we've been always looking up to and who represent somehow the red thread between past and present such as Iggy Pop and Nick Cave. Last but not least we thought of including a new fresh punk indie band that it's booming in Germany and beyond at the moment, they are called Pisse and their song "Alt Sein" is right before our single "Choppy," also included in our playlist.
