Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 134 | Leon Frear

With a gravely whisper, Leon Frear hits the ground running with the cleverness of a private investigator. The Chicago-based musician has plenty of knowledge of the unknown, especially with his latest single "Secret Second Moon". It's a tale of love, betrayal, and lessons learned, with enough fuel in its tank to burn plenty of bridges. This is just a little taste of what's to come from Frear's upcoming album Wild Rice, which will arrive in February 2024 with the same fire in its belly as its leadoff single. But until the time comes to reveal more broken promises and phones, Leon Frear displays plenty of endurance in this week's Shameless Tuesdays!

Here's what Leon Frear has to say about this week's playlist:

I've decided to call this playlist "Survival Songs". These songs are about survival, songs that helped me when I was trying to survive and songs written by my friends. Many are from the place I will always call my home. Some of these tracks I've listened to hundreds of times. Some a few less. Some bring me comfort when I am homesick. Some of thesemake me feel even more homesick. Some of these tracks make me feel pumped up. Some make me feel sad. Some make me feel a certain way.

Bottom line, all of these artists have influenced my work and some are songs I selfishly wish I had written. Except one. I put one secret song on here that is brand new to me. Just because I liked it and it might be fun to guess. But all of them are tracks by people I personally admire. I hope you will enjoy it.
