Shameless Tuesdays: Livre 119 | Roman Angelos
Roman Angelos dresses to the nines because his jams are suave and serene. His latest remix album Supermarkets, Underwater is a reworking of his 2022 release Music For Underwater Supermarkets. Angelos takes the laid-back vibes of the original, and breathes into it a life that's fit for both clubs and Nintendo 64-era first-person shooters. One can't help but be pulled into the ocean of sounds that he crafts, with his newer versions of "Swimming Through the Aisles" and "Entrances" dealing vibes that entice and enchant. But before he submerges for another dive, Roman Angelos fishes for us a playlist for this week's Shameless Tuesdays.
Here's what Roman has to say about this week's playlist:
"Shadows and Fantasy" is a playlist that both Scott Solter and I developed together. It seemed appropriate given the nature of this remix record, and it was really fun to try and find music that spoke to both of us, but also bridged the gap between our tastes. The playlist itself is broken up into thirds and is drawn from the music that inspired both the original and remix record of "Underwater Supermarkets". One-third of the playlist are tracks I chose, one-third are Scott’s choices, and the final third are tracks that we both felt really connected to and seemed to be reflected in the remix record. However, all the tracks are mixed up and hopefully it makes sense to the listener how both Perrey and Kingsley and David Sylvian can work so well together.
